4. Eyjafjallajökull Volcano, $3.5 Billion

This volcano erupted in Iceland in the year 2010. Millions of passengers were grounded, and thousands of flights were canceled due to the burst of tiny dust particles in the air. The prices of the fuel also went down during this period because of the flight being canceled. The insurance claim for this was around $3.5 billion. This is a clear indicator that we live in a global village because a cough in one part of the world will result in the entire world having a cold.
