Brandon Smiley, Son Of Rickey Smiley, Passes Away At 32.

In a video posted to Facebook on Sunday, Rickey Smiley, a well-known radio presenter in Atlanta, announced the death of his 32-year-old son.

Rickey did not specify how his son Brandon Smiley died, only that he went away abruptly on Sunday morning. Rickey stated in the three-minute video that he was en route to the airport to board a flight to Birmingham, Alabama, where he is from.

For himself, his son’s mother, and his entire family, he requested for prayers.

Rickey is a well-known and well-liked talk show host, best known for his Atlanta-based radio program “The Rickey Smiley Morning Show.” On their website, they claim to be the top urban adult contemporary radio show in the country.

According to the website for the program, his son Brandon was a comedian and actor. A photo of him performing at The StarDome in 2020 was shared on Twitter by his father.

Rickey is also a distinguished standup comedian, according to his website. His show runs from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. EST Monday through Friday and is broadcast live from their studio off Marietta Street in Downtown Atlanta.

Many have already reached out to offer their condolences after the news of his death.

Former Los Angeles Laker great and NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson said that he and his wife Cookie are praying for his entire family.

Mayor of Birmingham said that he was “devastated” to hear about the loss and that it’s a time to give back to Rickey and his family.

Rickey Smiley tweeted Sunday afternoon a picture of both himself and his son and asked for prayers.
